In Practice; Growth and Resilience

As a team, we firmly believe that constantly challenging ourselves and each other assists our growth and resilience. We believe that Radical Candour with respect is honouring behaviours in the workplace. In our recent, and ongoing, B-Corp journey these beliefs have been further compounded. This has emphasised the value of independent wisdom, supporting growth and development through independent governance, also raised in our #10KSB journey.
With this in mind, we approached supporter and collaborator Allan Murray to join us as a non-executive director. Allan has a wealth of experience, most notably in large-scale urban masterplans and schemes. Schemes widely recognised in national and international competitions and awards, including several Civic Trust and RIBA Awards. Orchestrating notable projects such as the Missoni Hotel, Edinburgh St James and Boroughmuir High School. Alongside setting up and running his own practice for thirty years, Allan has lectured in Advanced Architectural Theory and taught Architectural Design. He has sat as an external examiner and published numerous articles.
Embracing a new chapter and challenges Allan has re-ignited his passion for design. Collaborating with like-minded creatives, including PAD studio, to progress exciting and varied schemes both nationally and internationally. Recent posts have demonstrated our collaboration on a number of design competitions and schemes. We hope to announce some very exciting news on this soon.
It is with delight that we recently announced that Allan has agreed to bring both his creative design enhancement and experienced business practice to the current skill set of the team. As we are growing and developing as a practice, in his role as a non-executive director, he will primarily be supporting the implementation our Business Growth Plan. Ensuring that we keep the essence of PAD studio as we push forward, further and grow stronger. We look forward to the journey ahead and creating great sustainable architecture that enhances lives and places.
